Drank in a vertical with the 2005 and 2010. Was the best of the three - although perhaps 05 would have needed more time. The 2008 was open, muscular, with heady nose, a grippy mid-palate and a fairly long finish. Underbrush, blackcurrant, dark berries, and a hint of sweetness. Delicious.

Slightly jumbled nose with some complex notes of blood iron, beef bouillon, smoked meat clouded by charred oak. Needs some real time to setttle out, slightest hints of road tar. A definite sweetness to it, likely from the oak. Too much going on but you can sense enormous potential behind it all.

Tight pretty much through the entire evening but showed glimpses of what this will eventually reveal with time; very evident oak at present with oak spices mixed with Vosne spices, clove, smoke, incense and fleeting brown baking spices mixed with deep, dark cherry fruits that show urgency but lack focus today. Gentle wisps of spices and rose petal come out more with time and on the palate with candied licorice on top of a very rich and long palate. This shows nice dense fruit on the palate that should develop a lot more with time. Tight and showing a bit more oak than preferred but there is plenty of raw material to absorb it going forward. Solid Beaux Monts in the making. 91-92 points

This offers a nose of spices, earth and some oak influence. There is minerality on the palate and the elements are well balanced. Enjoyable.
