This was nice. Definitely had a wild note to it, which added some focus and "brightness" to the texture and finish. This was super rich and chocolaty with loads of caramel, vanilla, licorice, creme brulee, espresso and bourbon.

'09 bottling, so about 7 months aged in the cellar. Heavy! Layers and layers of chocolate, molasses, and espresso. Lovely carbonation, foaming up to a chocolate-milkshake...esque head. Very very good. If I can keep my paws off of my last bottle, I'll have to try this again at xmas 2011.

Wow, this is a big beer. Huge flavors of black licorice, molasses, soy sauce and bitter, dark, baking chocolate. I actually prefer the Black Butte XXI over this. It's just too much...

Massive body, dark chocolate, molasses, bourbon mix on the palate in this heavyweight stout. Very fine carbonation. Some bitterness rises up once swallowed, can't decide if it's the alcohol or has to do with the bourbon barrels this was aged in. A delicious drink now, for anyone not knowing these age very well. Sit on it for a year or two and you will be amazed how much heavier it gets.

So very good.... all the alcohol has integrated, the oak is rich and the chocolate is all sorts of savory. Deep and rich, drinking very well.
