Excellent German Riesling. Had this at a tasting of multiple Selbach-Oster Rieslings at which I bought several bottles. This is the best I've had of the lot - and I wish I'd bought more. Very well-balanced to my taste, with excellent acidity. (I tend to like greater-than-normal acidity in Riesling.) Perfectly integrated petrol notes contribute to nice complexity at this price level.

Last tasted 3.5 years ago and there's really not much need to change my earlier reviews. Color has darkened to a more medium straw green-yellow. Perhaps more cohesive in bouquet, resulting in elevated harmony and a relatively seamless palate for this Pradikat level. Liberal acidity with a nice grip. Would like to try again in another 5+ years but alas, this was my last bottle. 5+11+17+8 = 91

Enjoyed this a lot. It is tasting better and better and went great with Indian curry. It really is emerging from its sweet stage to a more balanced and fruit driven wine.

Unscrew & pour. Light petrol & pear nose. Bright, racy citrus fruit accented by pears & white peach. Tons of acid to balance the fruity nature of the wine. Minerality emerges on the finish. Rock solid Riesling producer.

(Selbach-Oster Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett) ($23.00) It’s rather an embarrassment of riches among the Kabinetts, so I picked my favorites, and if they sell out I’ll move on to my next-favorites which are still PFG; there’s a silky sleek length here along with the classic jade-vanilla flavors; wonderfully playful and sophisticated with a streamlined lime-parfait lightness.

Nice Kabinett, good fruit, classic stylings. Not spectacular, but good solid choice. Yum.
