  • A little corked, but the smell burned off pretty quickly. Subtle but has some complexity underneath. Very little oak or tannin

  • Nose of cherry and barnyard, old world style. On the pallate, I get distinct cola, and a creaminess somewhat like chocolate. Full bodied pinot for sure with silky tannins. Well balanced and complex, getting some rose petals on the mid-pallate now. Excellent bottle of wine. 14.2% alc. but wouldn't know it.

  • Popped and poured. Delicious right out of the gate. Several comments on flavor, balance and just plain delicousness of the bottle. Deep cherry, earth and a layered texture of flavors. This bottle was gone in the blink of an eye, had along w/an Erath & Sebastiani pinot. By far, the more elegant and sophisticated wine of the night.

  • Popped and poured. Nose of tart cherry and forest floor. A medium bodied pinot w/decent balance of acidity and tannins. Not quite as flavorful as the '03 consumed on Thanksgiving, but still tasty.

  • Opened and let breath for two hours prior to guests arriving. Had this along w/a Laurel Hood (Oregon Willamette Valley) pinot and an '02 Torii Mor reserve pinot for Thanksgiving dinner. To me, this was the pinot of the night, four of our guests commented on how good this wine was. My wife, really liked this. A neighbor popped in to say hello, and he is an Oregon pinot guy, and mentioned how tasty this was! Nose of dark cherry, w/some light earth..nothing like the Oregon earth, which seems fresher, make that wet earth, anyway...the wine was light, but complex w/ layers of flavor, dark cherry, some raspberry and dash of milk chocolate. An excellent finish, that lingered and brought, some real satisfaction. Must have timed this right, have 2 others in the cellar, along w/an 04, a couple '06's and several 07's.Hoping these bottles are equal to this, and age gracefully. Did not notice the 14.2% alchohol which is higher than I like, but less than some of the monsters out here today. I typicaly prefer Oregon pinot noir, so this was a treat.
