Dinner with the SLDS at Mark's: Tar, ashphalt, truffle and earth. Palate shows more tannin than the 1993 it was next to, and yet it handles them perfectly with some weighty fruit and an element of real class. In the zone for drinking from now through to the next 5+ years.
En doft med djup mörk frukt med körsbär, tjära, apelsinskal, läder och början till vissa mognadstoner med svampskog och höstlöv. Väldigt fin balans med den mogna körsbärsfrukten, påtagliga men ända silkiga tanninerna och den rena tydliga syran. Långt och fint slut. Hade förväntat mig lite mer mognad.
Dark, rich appearance, initially reserved nose gave way after 30 mins to dark fruits, tar, leather and hints of rose petals. The palate evolved similarly initially a little dumb but as it opened up exposing a dark plummy core, excellent balance, fine tannins provide both energy and persistent texture and finish. A very well made Barolo, and an excellent value in my humble opinion

(Paolo Scavino Barolo Bric dėl Fiasc) Bricking medium dark red violet color; dried berry, fig, tar nose with a possible touch of TCA; tasty, youthful, dried berry, tar, tart black fruit palate; medium-plus finish 91+ points (seems subtly flawed compared to the much better bottle I had earlier this year; also pales next to the '96 version)
