  • Incredibly deep dark burgundy brown colour with burnt orange edges

Big bouquet of red fruit, ripe cherry. Touch of vanilla oak and leather.

In the mouth it's syrupy smooth of ripe cherry, plum. Very fine tannins and nice acidity driving through to a long finish. Lingering "tang".

Big bold medium to full body wine. Juicy and lovely concentration.

Menthol on the nose later when it opened up more.

Wine is approachable now, but I'd wait another 3-5 years. Still a lot of life in this gal!

  • Opened apprx 45 minutes not recanted by somm at The Ledbury. Translucent violet red. Highly perfumed nose of smoky dark fruits, floral notes, and stones. Medium bodied ripe red fruit with fairly high penetrance, rounded texture focussed by acid, mineral and light tannins creating a sense of great balance. Opened even more throughout evening, adding complexity. This was a real treat. Paired well with Nancy's John Dory and my suckling pig.
