Takes quite a while to open, when it does full and rich with moderate acids and tannins. Black cherry and spice, this is rather muscular, and maybe showing more Jadot than Chambolle, but I like. B/B+ with potential.

This was pretty tight, though it opened a bit through night (smallish stems didn’t help). At first it was mostly tannin and acid, by meals end you could glimpse the black cherry fruit and a touch of sandalwood. I thought some ‘06s were in an open period, but not this one. Hold. For drinking now B-, but plenty of potential.

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Lus, forward fruit with moderate spice, already starting to show hints of maturity and evolution. At its peak, surprisingly early, even for a 2006.

Fairly flat on the nose and somewhat dull on the palate. Dirty red fruit, flabby texture. Chalky finish.
