  • From 375ml. Showing a deep amber hue along with some mature, oxidative notes of macadamia nuts, citronella, wax. But despite all that, this is fresh and zippy with plenty of golden apple and pickled ginger. Layered and delightfully bittersweet. If you like the style as I do, this is terrific and very much in the late successional zone.

  • Just took delivery after 2 month ocean freight. Probably should have waiting a month or two to let it settle, but I decided not tonight. Put into freezer for an hour and popped and poured. Into a Riedel Bordeaux glass. Doing everything wrong tonight. Golden straw color. Yeasty lemon curd. In the mouth, an odd sourness, not unpleasant. A bit too cold but as it warms up, the ripe apple and lemon curd much stronger. A hint of sweetness, but more acid and sour than sweet. Has an oily mouthfeel and the taste lingers a long time. I kind of like it, but not sure about the sourness.

  • From a 375.

Strong nose of lanolin, honey, candied pineapple, old antique store, and a touch of black tea. The palate is intense, with a distinct salinity, and notes of key lime, candied pineapple, nectarine, rust, and black tea. High acidity drives the tension of the wine and is pleasantly noticeable on the finish. Compared to the 2010 Le Mont, which I had a couple of days ago, this definitely feels like a much older wine and has much more bracing acidity. That said, this should still be tasty for a few more years, wouldn’t be in any rush to drink, especially a 750.

  • From 375mL. Light golden; aromatic with wet wool, quince, honeyed, slight minerality; palate is medium bodied, slight sweetness, quince fruit, tart lime, medium-plus acidity, medium alcohol (less than 13.5% on label); crisp, clean, flavorful medium length finish. A lovely balanced Vouvray at peak maturity for my palate. 91-92

  • From 375mL. Light golden; high intensity aromatics with honey, quince, wet wool; palate is medium bodied, mostly dry but definitely a touch of sweetness noticeable, honeyed white fruits, boiled quince, refreshing medium-plus acidity throughout with a wonderful lemon-lime twist, balanced alcohol (bottle says 13.5% but could be less); finish is medium-long and has a nice tartness to it. A value at $20 per half bottle, and the complexity of a top tier wine at maturity. I've had 4-5 of these halves and they have all been delicious. This bottle maybe even a touch more than the others. 93
