The second Hamina offering to bite the dust in the past week, and actually the last of all our white holdings. Todd are you listening? Limpid, pale straw. muted nose, wet stone, some very faint floral notes; tart Oregon pear primarily, notably chalky minerality.
Pretty similar note to last tasting - aging well: fine straw color, good clarity, mineral nose, some floral notes, crisp on the palate, quite dry, orchard fruits, good acidity, mineral notes, refreshing and inviting.
My first exposure to the Hamina Pinot Grigio and I have to say overall impressed. Rather more concentrated than other whites we have had, plenty of minerality and style, not lacking for flavour. Interesting slightly spicy pear/apple combo with underlying mineral base, decent acidity.
