  Singapore, brought to a friend s house and procured from the cellar of a most discerning other friend. Colour is dark straw. Not dark enough that one would suspect Premox. Nose is rather reassuring. It displays floral notes and a candied apricot touch that would not be out of place in a Sauternes. The palate has little fruit left (if it ever had it) and rather provides a tactile sensation of weight and minerals. Quite taut. It does not have the oily and buttery sensation one associates with older regimes of white burgs wine-making. A thing of curiosity rather than sheer hedonistic pleasure. I am quite pleased a 30-year old white burg proved beyond drinkable.

  This was a bit more difficult to love for me, but awesome to have tried. It felt aged and slightly tropical on the nose, quite dark yellow in color, clearly has had a fair bit of oak, very full body and round. In the mouth this was a bit fresher, but still with lots of ginger, pineapple and mango.

  Utregs Wijnhuis tasting Exclusief (Utrecht, NL): Tasted next to Leroy Puligny Montrachet 2015 and this stood up firmly and even surpassed it for me. Such complexity and depth! Medium+ intensity; clearly oxidative, sherry, nuts (walnut, almond), marmelade, honey, ginger, some tropical fruits. On the palate the complexity was exquisite! Medium+ acidity, very long finish. A very intellectual wine. 94-95

  13.5% alkohol. Utviklet, jordlig, kompleks og delikat. Noe lukket i starten, men åpner seg etter en times tid. Litt funky med jordlig skogbunn, høstvåt sopp, litt mineralitet og deilige smørtoner. Minner nesten om en søtere vin med tydelig preg av honning og moden gul frukt. Ikke så mye syre igjen, men en forførende og utviklet Meursault som hele tiden trekker en tilbake!
