Sunday night BBQ with a Tomohawk and Chimichurri. I have had a few of these but this one on opening was musty, light and short on the palate. With some air, secondary characters were to the fore, cedar, tobacco and tomato leaf, but very light and brown in colour. Time in the glass resulted in additional weight and hints rose and cassis emerging. Delightful delicate wine that stood up well one its own and with the meal.

bought this as a "classic" release by Lindeman's in 2000 and it's gathered dust until last October when the 1st bottle was opened . The fruit was certainly there in this bottle .

Basically: gone. Hints of what the wine once was were there, but the wine was heavily oxidised and had lost all it's fruit. Rusty, brick red colour and a heavy dusty, cellar floor nose. Very dry and almost muscat aftertaste. Disappointing since the last one we drank (2004) was amazing and showing many more years of potential.
