Good champagne. Strong perlage, so probably a recent degorgement (not indicated on the bottle). A very nice lightly red-golden hue. Nose and mouth are more about pinot noir-fruit than about minerality or brioche. Quite vinous, substantial and with a good finish. Still a little bit rough around the edges. I guess this cuvée will always be among the more easy-going champagne .

Full mouth and well balanced; plenty of fruit without being heavy, acid well in check. Not exceptionally complex with the interest found the fruit and mineral side, little in the way of umami, etc.

We had tickets to a luxury box at the Phillies game and we decided to tailgate before the game (tailgating before a baseball game seems a little forced, but I sucked it up). Bought some pâté and popped this cork. A bit on the tired and oxidized, but only a bit and I actually like that vibe. We showed South Philly how to tailgate right (in our Prius). Very Good. thedrunkencyclist.com

I am a sucker for any wine from the town of Bouzy--I admit it. It is a town that is well known for its Pinot Noir and any Champagne with "Bouzy" on the label is likely to be dominated by that grape. While this was not the best bottle from Bouzy that I have ever had, it certainly did scratch an itch (one that developed from a full day of Little League baseball). Perfectly Brut, with everything in its place. Excellent. thedrunkencyclist.com
