Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 82 points

  • Ruby to garnet with huge legs. low intensity concentrated plum and cherry, medicinal and herbal bitterness over vanilla, caramel and chocolate. A little sweet spice, leather and sweet tobacco. Slight farmyard that slowly blows off. The wine is a little disjointed and the bitterness carries on the finish. Went okay with a cold meat platter. bit tired I suspect

  • Appearance: Ruby coloured with massive legs (like a shot putter). Alcohol isn't too high so I presume this is glycerol combining
Nose: clean with medium intensity, dark fruit, chocolate, mint even, cedar and tobacco, something herbaceous
Mouth: good acidity and medium tannin, black fruit melting into leather and pencil shavings, perhaps graphite on a long finish.
    Jolly nice!

  • Dark brown edges, getting old. Evident also in over soft tannins almost totally disappeared
