Very pretty. Elegant, soft, light red berry, very floral. Not sure what the stem regimen is here but maybe faint stems in the pleasant green sort of way, could also be a characteristic of Gruencheres as I have more experience here with Dujac. 92 - 93.

1/6, OK cork. Pale/medium garnet, pale garnet rim. Aromatic nose - pure strawberry fruit, florals, some development with earth and game. Medium bodied, well proportioned with pure red fruits, soil, game, fine tannins, vibrant acidity, good depth of fruit and an extended, harmonious finish. Excellent.

I'm a fan of this wine from Fourrier so regret to say this bottle was underwhelming-- forward, brett notes, altogether more rustic and barnyard than I expect from Fourrier. A tricky vintage but this wine is without his usual transparency.

A line-up of 1993s (The Briars): Not unlike the Goulots, but naturally more vigorous - this was a lovely sappy mid-wight burgundy at its peak
