Bought mixed cases of Dry River 1999 during EP years ago and completely forgot the Chardonnay Amaranth. When I pulled this wine out, I thought for sure this would have passed its prime. To my surprise, this was drinking really well with 14 years under its belt. Light gold in color likes a young Yquem. Good nose, hints of fruits with a touch of wood. Sweet and smooth on entry. Note of honey, citrus, apricot and pine. Good balance overall. Delicious stuff, again I was pleasantly surprised by the longevity of NZ Chardonnay. Maintained good balance on 2nd day, this should last for a while. 92-94 pts.

Flawed. Cork intact. Light golden brown in color, like d'Yquem. Sadly oxidized. Down the sink.
