No signs of this being an 11 year old wine. Very round and smooth. Acid is balanced by the red berry fruits. Some peppery notes. A hint of floral on the expressive nose. Good grip. Nice long finish.

New batch of bottles, but this wine is still fantastic one year later. Savory elements still dominate, and it doesn’t seem like there will be a decline any time soon. Even though it reminds me a lot of Northern Rhone, there is something unique about this terroir. Unfortunately 2010 was the last year they made this wine, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Drinking very well. Savory red fruits, bramble, and balanced acidity. Tannins almost resolved in my bottle. At first thought it was a bit over the hill but with a little air it balanced out nicely. Not sure how much better it will get as it is drinking very well right now.

The savory, meaty and olive tapenade flavors are consistent with previous bottles. The viognier gives this wine an elegance and lift that make it a dead ringer for Northern Rhône, and more specifically, Cote Rotie. Not like an overextracted Guigal, but a more finesse driven producer like Burgaud. Fantastic bargain at around $15/bottle; I hope Todd has the 2009 version of this at next years BerserkerFest.
