At peak, herbs, mature but light fruit, mushrooms, tobacco box. Soft tannins, medium body. Not as earthy as a bordeaux would be but clearly some bordeaux vibe. Slightly sweeter than bordeaux Medium long finish. A good wine at peak. Though nothing extraordinary

Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): Deep ruby, with slightly browning edges. Pronounced nose, starting with a cocoa coffee scent, then shows some herbal, slightly fungal character. Intense flavours of ripe blackberry, chocolate, some paprika and fern leaves, and then cloves, cinnamon, tar and bit of mushrooms. Long spicy herbal and tar finish. Nice!

Was worried this would not be too good as it was stored for several years out at varying room temp in a friend's restaurant. Was showing a fair amount of bricking in the color as an aged wine might. Tasted just fine right out of the bottle and really developed quite nicely with time in the decanter. The wine developed nicely and was a very pleasant wine to drink.
