  MAN I love these wines! This wine is drinking perfectly right now....dark and rich plum, cherry, blackberry fruit...almost port-like dark fruit! Wonderful dusty oak barrel cedar spice, mocha, cherry liqueur cordials, anise seed, dried cranberry. What cream smoothness...yet firm backbone, and tart acidic spice kick. Very complex...showing even some menthol tobacco and herbs. Really packed with flavor, aged complexity just starting to show something, yet structurally sound and built for more age. Great wine...especially for the money!

  Drank from a mag over the course of 2 evenings. For the money I paid, I must say WOW! Still has plenty more to give. Fruit was brimming and fresh. Tannins were definitely in check but still present. Dark fruits typical of Alexander Valley with a good cedar and tar note. Cigar box aromas. All in all, a great wine.

  Good news, bad news. The good news, for me, is that this one is drinking perfectly now. Outstanding, forward nose. Palate is rich in fruit, with remnants of acidity and tannins in the background. Excellent balance. Medium finish keeps it from scoring higher. Most often, I describe a wine as "good, but too early" or "good, but on the decline". This one is "good, and drinking its best RIGHT NOW". Oh, and all that for $25 on an auction pickup last year.
  
  The bad news is a) this is my first and last bottle of this and b) I have scant few Cali cabs of this age and maturity. In the meantime, I'll just regard this bottle, and this evening as a treat.
