Tasted double blind and compared to a 1927 Rieussec, basically a very old sauternes that has lost its sweetness. Butter, vanilla, lots of acidity, some almonds.

Golden color. Typical sauternes nose. Tast of bitter almonds, mineralic notes. The acidity is a present and one feels the alcohol. Drink - 2025.
WCC First Growth Bordeaux Tasting @ Provence (Provence Restaurant, Albany, NY): [Pop & pour, cold.] Medium amber color. Huge, complex, botrytis nose. Elegant, sweet, balanced delicious. A superb Sauternes!

Mike/DaveR event at AOC.Man, this one is a tease, starting off with great fruit and turning bitter and nasty on the finish. I'd love to try one of these that sealed the deal.
