Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 82 points

  • This is a wine I made from a Cellar Craft kit. It was bottled on January 19, 2009. While it is clearly not an exceptional wine, I have been very pleased with the quality of this wine for the cost. My total cost, including labels, corks, toppers, etc. (but without prorating the cost of equipment) was $3.69 per bottle.
It has a very nice dark red color, but the nose is not strong - what there is smells of dark fruit, tobacco and perhaps a little chocolate. It has enough tannins to be pleasant and a nice overall mouth feel. The flavors, like the nose, are not strong, but are of black cherries, black currants, chocolate and tobacco. Of the wines I have made, it is one of the best and I score it 82 points.
