Wow, what a fantastic bordeaux blend. Second of three bottles from my cellar, this one drinking perfectly right now. Beautiful dark colour, rich scents of dark fruits, coffee and spice on the nose. Incredibly lush texture with nicely rounded tannins, fits the ripe, dark fruit like a glove. Not overly oaked, but provides an interesting palate of coffee, vanilla, dark berry fruits, and some spice. A truly fantastic expression of bordeaux-like wine-making from SA.
Fairly intense bouquet with good dark berries and beautiful oaky flavors. On the palate a full bodied wine with red and dark berries, sweet spices, chocolate and a touch of bell pepper. A firm dose of sweetness and also good acidity and round tannin. Good length. Ready now and the next few years.
Eye: deep dark garnet with purple rim, long tears in the glass. Nose: SA funk, dark berries, dried fruit, cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon. Palate: juicy, loads of fruit, well balanced, tannins softening yet still has good body, long finish.
