A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A full bodied Syrah, with black cherry, blueberries, chewy and thick, complex as many Charles Smith’s wines are.

This was super fruity and delicious. Dark purplish in color, not very transparent, and full of dark brambly fruit smells. The first taste was big, also a touch lighter than I had thought, with some tartness and cherries in the mix. This rolls over your mouth, with a light tannin touch at the end and a long finish. Over the course of an hour the tartness subsided and the tannins increased a little bit. All in all very nice.

Very inviting nose with a touch of heat. Fruit note at the front of the mouth quickly becomes spicy herbal and slightly bitter. Tannin finish bites nicely and is fairly well behaved. That fruit note disappears a little to quickly.

Not sure what it is about the nose on this that reminds me of balsamic vinaigrette, very faint, but it's there. This wine is deep purple. Very thick looking. Taste blackberries on the palette with a bit of pepper in the middle and a dark chocolate finish.

Acidic first out of the bottle. Decanting an hour proved its worth. Tight nose. Nice full fruit with a lasting finish. Second night even better. Will buy more and some cellar time should improve even further. Washington is producing some very nice Syrahs.
