  • Drinking very nice now. Great fruit forward taste, complexity yet smooth taste and finish. The 50/50 blend is a very friendly mix most delightful. Decantered for an hour and on the second day a slight loss in desire was experienced.

  • Vinturi aerate to decanter, let sit a few min. Color brilliant cherry red with some black tones darkening, medium body. This blend shows well the contributions of both varietals, and for that reason I bumped it to 90. Bouquet of blackberries, cassis, cherries, touches of leather and coffee, and some bramble. On the palate, big delicious dark berries with natural ripeness/sweetness are brightened by a little cranberry and cherry, with flavors of coffee, earth, spice, and a pleasantly mild streak of green pepper. Medium-plus acidity, and a firm frame of tannins that softened over three hours. Nice balance, moderate finish could be longer, but I like that it has some earthiness that adds substance. Solid now but seems one for drinking within 2-3 yrs. Both the juiciness of the fruit and acidity made an excellent pairing with a complex dark sauce of authentic Oaxacan mole over turkey from my smoker, along with salsa rice. Very good value at 15. Sad this was my only bottle.

  • Nice big wine which opened nicely. Smooth tanins and lovely aromas of blackberries, smoky.

  • Poured through Venturi. Deep red/purple color. Blackberry, bramble, licorice, and herbal nose. Black fruit on the palate, and while it started out silky nice, there was a lot of tannin and oak--and this became more noticeable (and objectionable) through the evening. Either it's too young, or it won't improve. I'm not sure how to tell which.
