A step up over the normal cuvee. I usually drink those bottles up around 8 years after vintage date. This one has the stuffing to go a bit longer. It was a bit uptight upon opening, but really began to unfold after 30-45 minutes.
Great blackberry, raspberry nose, with a ton of minerality, baking spice, molasses, and herbes de Provence, without a hint of overripeness. The palate is meaty yet with super clean fruit. It's lively on the palate with a nice spicy finish. I think it's really firing at the moment and probably best enjoyed with this vivacity (Drink now to 2019).
