Complex and inticing nose. Medicinal : eucalyptus, mint, orange peel. Black fruits blackcurrant, cassis. Nice juicy crunchy acidity still very alive. Finish is dark and bold. Wine needs to breath to show its full potential. I recommend at least one hour on karaffe.

Interesting to drink after the 2010 Tempier Tourtine I had a few days before. This was way more rustic and darker. Classic Mourvedre nose, earthy, leather. Chewy and dense, not a generous wine in the sense you have to work for it. Maybe it was the bottle but it seems to be in a shut down phase.

So, I had a great bottle of the 2007 X a few months back and was curious about whether the wine receiving normal élévage would show just as well. It is a bit younger seeming and more fiercely tannic than the X but still very enjoyable right now with the rich Flannery Picanha. Brmbly fruit and lots of garrigue and that unmistakeable bark-like note I get from Pradueax. Less of the florals that can come with age but plenty of fruit to balance the tannin. Will gain complexity and mellow some with age, but it's in a fun spot now with the right food.

From the coravin by the glass list at Park Avenue Wines (Portland, OR). My first time with this producer and I quite enjoyed this wine. Lots of bramble and rustic garrigue here, dark fruits and spice and just quite tasty. The structure is here for continued aging and it would be fun to taste an older vintage. Something to seek out in future.
