Coming out a bit hot off of pop-n-pour. Impressive masculine savory flavors, including cigarbox, cedar, leather juxtaposed against a feminine nose that I could have sworn was a Cali cab with red and blue fruits and a touch a vanilla sweetness, before also revealing its spice and savory characters. If only it wasn't so hot on the palate, this would be a case-purchase for me at $20.
Classic haut-médoc, good core of fruit for a 12 year old, nice development with lots of spicy notes. Very good QPR at €12 en primeur. Good to drink now, will probably last 3+ years more but not sure it would improve from that.
Blue and red fruit. Reductive aromas early, but blew off after couple hours decanting. Nose smelled of more alcohol than this carries. Tight and astringent at first, but opened up and integrated with some air time. Ripe blue fruit with some decent red fruit acidity to balance. Notes of caramel, leather, and tobacco. Tannins are fairly bold, but calm down as the wine comes together. Medium long finish Tasted again on day 3 and confirmed this wine needs some time to open and integrate. Still as good, and possibly better on day 3. Altogether, this wine is showing quite well for the price, and the freshness of the fruit says this has plenty of years ahead
