Piedmont night: My contribution. Served as trio of '04, '06, '08 vertical. Had the most supple, sweetest fruit of the trio to withstand the oak treatment, but still had distracting drying tannins.

Red fruit, hard candy, mint, vanilla. Sweet sensation at the end, presumably from the new oak. Still very tannic. Very good if you like a modern-style Barolo.

Slow O'd for three hours; decanted for one. Deep and dark Barolo; terrific with food. Somewhat fruit-shy, in the manner of 2006 Baroli, and thought provoking; certainly not a quaffer.

Some nice dark fruits, balsamics, tar. Floral aromas on top of the dark fruit and balsamic. Nice wine. Tannins still a bit chewy/granular but otherwise they were good and not harsh. Some bitterness on the finish.
