(Sampled via Coravin - 30 min airing in the glass) Medium ruby color with good clarity. Mild aromas of dark fruit and cedar. Flavors of Black Cherry, blackberry, blueberry, and bakers chocolate, with espresso and black licorice on the medium long finish. Still has plenty of tannin, but well integrated and supportive of the flavor profile. Drinkable now, but better days are ahead. My next taste won't be for another year for sure, this still has 5 - 10 years left, not sure when it might peak, but 5 more years is a guess.

We drank this wine directly after a 2001 Manzoni Barolo. This wine still has some big tannins, but I was most struck by a big graphite terroir flavor in the wine that started early body and carried through the finish. Fruit on this wine starts large in the mid-body and develops nicely, red first fading to darker fruits that linger. Very nice wine that will drink well for at least a decade. I'm not going to open my last bottle of these for a few more years.

Beautiful Barolo. Drinks lovely now. Jeremy Holmes' tasting note is most accurate, and prosaic, and he tasted this 3 yrs ago. Attractively priced for this quality.

Heavy tannins, too young to drink now, needs a few more years in cellar, earthy herbal notes on palate.
