  • One of the best Barolo I have had in quite a while. This is my view on how aged Barolo should taste.
Browning at the edges, but garnet overall in colour. Beautiful aromas ... floral, tar, black tea, dark berry fruit, licorice, prunes, baking spices. Nice aromatic complexity.
Flavours follow aromas and then kick in some sandalwood, and black tea/tar/balsamics on a long finish. Not sweet fruited, nor bitter fruited. The brooding dark berries are heavy, but they aren't heavy ... just let them roll around a bit on the mouthfeel. Tannins are smooth and dusty, not overpowering, but still present.

  • It’s not getting better than this, so pull corks now. Tannins resolved and fine grained. Lovely, live acid and floral notes. Red fruits throughout. It’s slightly short of thrilling but well-within gorgeous and that’s a good thing.

  • Delicious & well balanced, with a spine of acidity proper for the right food. Somewhat reticent... would benefit from 3-4 hour decanting. An elegant Barolo with clean aromas of dried rose petals, tar, & old glove leather.

  • Oof, this is good. Better than I remember! Opened for a couple of hours with a glass poured but not decanted. Brooding dark fruited nose of plum, liquorice, prune, rose, clove. Palate is tightly packed, chocolate bean, a bit of coffee, sandalwood, but resolved, relaxed. Really delicious and particularly good with a plate of agnolotti del plin.

  • Still very young. Dark ruby. Expressive, dark Barolo nose. Well integrated but still dense. True to the vineyard, year and producer. Excellent but needs time, and will improve over many years. Decant if drinking now.
