  • Dry blue berries and viol - Iron rust and tar. Coke?.. You feel hi quality and a very long finish. However- its great! Save for 20 y or take it now. If I had only one I take it in 3’years

  • Working with wine 2014 seminar 2 - piemonte (???): On the nose there are flavours of leather, rose, meaty and cheesy, mineral - wet stone notes, earthy, plum, toast. In the mouth the wine is juicy, plummy, leathery, meaty with slight alcohol heat coming in with medium intensity talc like tannin. Very long.

  • This is great juice but far too expensive for us.
Light red color with slight bricking.
Elegant but muted nose of a youthful wine.
Has an incredible mouth feel with the fine grained woody M++ tannins and M+ acids. The wine has a medium body but still manages to fit in an extravagant array of emerging aromas of plums, red berries, a perfect sun-tan, black currants, clay notes etc. The southern exposure can be noticed as a small, VERY attractive, part of the mid-palate. Suggesting itself to grow and expand over the years to come.
The woody, bitter tannins would today make for an excellent marriage with a fine non-fruity olive oil and a baguette.
Still young, for the long haul. (Wish we had some.)
One glass at Riedel Bar (Enoteca) in Hikarie Building, Shibuya (Tokyo).

  • Decanted for about 4 hours. Bouquet: Dusty gravel, smoke, blackberry, aged plum, floral, lightly perfumed.
    Palate: Intense, drying tannins.
Flavor: Floral, red and black currant, smoke and chocolate towards the finish which lasts over 40 seconds.
    Comment: Outstanding.
Day 2 Bouquet: Gamey, dried red currant, coffee, chocolate.
    Palate: Gum gripping tannins.
Flavor: Light red currant, ripe cranberry note, coffee, mushroom, bitter chocolate from the mid-palate on through the finish. Again, finishes with intense, drying tannins.
Comment: Has opened up beautifully showing more red fruit character. 47,250 yen/bottle.
