  I am a massive fan of this vineyard but having bought 3 bottles of this vintage all opened during 2021: The first one was poured down the sink as undrinkable, the 2nd was drinkable but disappointing and the 3rd was very, very good; of the standard I expect from Riecine (but not in the same league as the incredible 1999 riserva). My score reflects the 3rd bottle.

  Last of a 3-pack--Very nice. Pretty luscious in a sangiovese sort of way--nice red fruit, cherry, black cherry, some aged notes coming in, nice back and forth of richness and freshness with bit more aged quality and earth, very light tar, wood. Went great with pan fried veal loin chops in a thyme/rosemary/garlic sear and lemon deglazing sauce, next to spinach tagliatelle.

  another great bottle. You will not see this wine starting 2010, it is done under IGT as Riecine di Riecine, but price increased by at least 40%

  Second bottle--continues to be a winner. Just lovely integrated chianti. Echo earlier note and say that one year latter, was perhaps a tad smoother, and again with deceptive richness and depth.
