Drank from a magnum and paired against a pretty tough line-up (Solaia, Sassicaia, Suolo, Valdicava). This wine more than held its own. It was in a real sweet spot - fruit was spot on, tannins had softened, but still had a good backbone. Excellent.
Opened 1 hour earlyer and paired with fiorentina T bone steak. Deep red colour with some brick showing his age. On the nose is elegant herbs and tobacco are present. Tannins are round and smooth; still warm and spicy on the mouth. Ready to drink now peak + time.
Opened 1,5 hrs before pouring. Shiny garnet. Nose that starts with some crispy fruit: ripe cherry, currant, raspberry; than sandalwood, and sweet tobacco. Background of aromatic herbs and spicy tones: Rosmary, cinnamon, mint, licorice. Palate of nice freshness and tannins that ageing have contributed to soften up. Medium long finish. Drink now.
