Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont; 10/3/2014-10/5/2014 (Piedmont, Italy): Chef Maurilio of the Ciau del Tornavento, specified it to go with his Nutella ravioli ( an absolute must) and we could not say no. Quite rustic, solid, deep and at times heavy, almost like a light Tokaji essencia at time, very viscous and sticky. Very nice 93 -95( from half bottle)

What a wine!!! Extremely unctuous texture. Very intense nose of figs, caramel, almonds. Reminds me of a high quality Sherry Oloroso. Good acidity and extremely long finish. Worth the high admission price.

Amazingly thick and brown. Looks heavy but smells very delicate. Smell of apricots, a bit of prunes and honey. Well balanced in the mouth, perhaps lacks of a bit of acidity. Not too heavy of alcohol. A good wine, half a glass perfect for cheese or dessert

Dark amber/brown colour to yellow gold rim. Aromas of caramel, salt, mineral, coffee. Full-bodied, with salt, coffee, caramel, and mocha notes. Long finish, 40-45s, with coffee, caramel notes. A little too sweet for me.

Like liquefied brown sugar and molasses. Old wood-aged rancio character. Ultra concentrated and thick. Intense stuff. Really tasty.
