Medium to full-bodied. Rough, firm tannins, and moderate fruit. "jsums" has got the profile right in the notes below. Developed slowly over 1-2 hours, gaining the most on the finish. This could be aged for a couple more years, or consumed now with barbeque meats. 85-87 Update: showed better integration on the palate the next day. This seems to be a "vin de garde".

Murky garnet with medium viscosity in the glass. Fig, plum, wet stone and noticeable heat on the nose. Secondary violets and spice. Medium-lite body with red fruit, peel and earth on the initial palate. Fruit fades quickly leaving minerals and grippy tannin on the back. Short finish. Good QPR.

12.5 alcohol by volume on label. Deep purple and opaque. Dark berries on the palate; slightly grapey. Fine gritty texture. Exhibits some of the expected Gamay characteristics. Fruity but not overripe or sweet. I think this will hold for at least a couple more years and may improve. I will probably hold by second bottle until 2012.

Light ruby color. Nose: sweet strawberry, ripe raspberry, sandalwood, and a little baked cinnamon apple going on. Palate: raspberry/strawberry, red apple, anise, and cinnamon. Bright acidity. Moderate/firm dry tannins. Moderate/long finish with some red apple/plum skin and green stick. Good, solid Beaujolais with some future upside. Excellent food wine.
