Deep tawny in color, this fortified wine showed caramel, dried raisin, apricot, fruitcake and a nutty, almond aroma. The mouth feel brought sweet tastes with more raisin and fruitcake elements. The finish was assertive with the caramel and raisin notes holding in check any burn from the 20% abv.
Purchased for $14US, this is an enjoyable, entry level Tawny that is a decent qpr. Not as complex as 10 or 20 year Tawny, its nevertheless enjoyable.

The nose seems to have butterscotch along with something I'm not quite sure how to describe. (I'm new to this!) Something a bit earthy, perhaps barnyard. Some cherry jam, caramel, and cocoa on the palette. A bit of brown spice, maybe cinnamon. Very good.
