Dark ruby. Nose of raspberry, bing cherry, violets. Very luxuriant feel to the palate, with silken layers of raspberry and red plum fruit girded by tactile, fine-grained tannins and freshened by lively acidity. Finish quite lovely and resolved, with waves of mineral and red berry. Integrating nicely.
A pretty big wine by Brick House standards, but not for a 2006 generally. Fruit on the dark end of the scale, and comes across with a sort of baked (not stewed, happily) component from time to time, but very pleasant. Good overall balance; just a little heat here and there. Drinking well right now, and easy to see it lasting for at least another 5 years.
