From a very hot year, this has surprisingly elegant nose with typical Gevrey animal earthiness but lifted with some nice still red fruits. The palate was just below medium weight, but did not meet nor reflect the class of the nose. Quite a simple linear palate with a slightly clipped finish but no V A. Not the greatest length obviously. Not a bad 2003 but in context not a great Fourrier.

Bright ruby colour. Dark baked fruits, black cherries, dusty tannins, smokey, feral gamey characters, violet florals. Initially taut and tight even drying but has opened up impressively in an hour with the mid-palate showing lovely fruit sweetness that hold through to a long finish, a complete transformation. Very primary needs to be decanted. This will go for 20+ years.

This is peaking. Significantly better than the last bottle (two years ago). A big nose featuring rasberries, strawberries and cranberries, complicated by vanilla, and a touch of wet earth and tobacco. Rich, smooth, and dark in the mouth with expressive flavors of red fruits and a medium long finish. Light to medium bodied, and in good shape. I'd say drink soon.

Seductive sous bois nose, laced with sweet red fruit - but the palate just cant follow through. Nothing wrong, but just foursquare and primary in the mouth. Plenty of fruit and not roasted though.

Best of the three bottles, showing a nice earthy element.
