At 15 years old, this is a red burg with no sign of age. The nose is reticent, and is all airy red fruits, Vosne spices, and slightly earthy, followed by bright red fruits, and framed by juicy acids, light on its feet at first and then the structure kind of sneak back on the palate with powerful but fine tannins. This wine is unusually elegant for Grivot Clos de Vougeot, and can be drunk now or cellared for secondary aromas to develop.

Full and spicy nose. Dark and heavy. Wet earth, dark fruit and minerals. But also herbal and with a disturbing tomato note. Rustic impression. Medium-fullish and quit tannic palate. Good concentration with oaky notes of chocolate. Dark fruit and herbs. Wet earth. And very 2008 tart. This is not on GC-level, probably due to the vintage and the location of Grivot's plot in Clos Vougeot down at the regional road.

I've had several bottles of the '08 Grivot Clos Vougeot over the years, and my impression is always the same.... It's junior league. It's way too light, and it's lacking the dimensionality of tase that Grand Crus simply must posess. A failure in those important areas. Someone referred to it as having too much stem quality, and I agree. If it were a Premiere Cru, I still would be disappointed. There's nothing special about the taste, and there's hardly any finish. This wine will not improve with time. The fact that there are scores on this page in the 90's really makes me wonder how much experience the reviewers have had with Grand Cru wines.

Medium color and body. Nice nose of spring flowers, fresh berries, wood. Tart, tannic on the palate, raspberries, dark chocolate, black tea. Can only hope this gets better; as is, rough QPR.

A pleasant surprise to the upside. After a 45-minute decant this had lovely spice and cool black cherry fruit on the nose. Cola spice with some brighter red berry coming through too. Not super concentrated but very pleasant drinking. No proper notes but about 92 - 93.
