By the time I opened this, the fruit had begun slipping away leaving behind an alcoholic heat, which isn't surprising given it's 14.9% abv. If you've got a bottle, drink it now and enjoy. If you're thinking about buying a bottle, it should be marked down as an orphan, as its just a little past its prime.

Decanted 2 hours. Much better impression than my last note from '06. Still lightly reddish brown colored, but was not cloudy. Expressive nose of cherry fruit, asian and baking spices and some forest floor. Bright penetrating mostly cherry fruit of medium intensity. Good acidity and soft tannins. Some complexity and even finesse. Not fruit forward, but really pleasing fruit nonetheless. Medium to long length. Best Siduri in awhile. Awesome pairing with salmon.

(Siduri Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard) Group's #7 (my #7) – 81 pts.; 2, 1, 2, 6 – pale brownish red; “cantelope rind” and flat cola nose, with a little VA; sweet entry, flabby red fruit palate, a little hot, with vanilla oak edges; medium finish (15.2% alcohol, according to the Siduri website)
