  • In a great spot and drinking well at the moment. Tannins are rather mellow and the acidity on the higher side, but the wine is super enjoyable. This is not your typical powerhouse Gouge, more thank likely thanks to the 2008 vintage, and is rather dialed back on the intensity. Consumed over the course of 6 hours from a decanter and it was great the entire time.

  • Drank over 2 days: on day 1, the tannins were quite harsh, the next day they were much more interated.
A powerful wine with mainly red fruit, soil and salinity. Drinking well, a decant is helpful.

  • Drinking really nicely. Good balance, although maybe the acidity is still a bit on the high side which does still add to the freshness feeling. Good dark red berry fruit, forest floor to a degree. Nice length to the finish.

  • Dark red fruit, soil, tannins. Later, more drifting to black fruit. Good length with middle density. This wine came well together. I do not expect any further upward potential, so enjoy.

  • Transparent color. Also transparent on the nose with fresh dark fruit and tannins! Fruity and elegant for a 2008, but the fresh tannins and fruit reveals a restrained and stubborn wine which needs more time. Very different from the 2007 which was a lot more accessible and generous (6 years ago). I guessed it was a Montille wine since they are also made in this style.
