Nick's 2008 Burgundies (Noizé, London): Darker and denser than the Fixin in its flight, with darker fruits like black cherry. This is vibrant, youthful, years ahead of it I reckon. In fact I would even describe it as a little tight and firm, though it does begin to let go, to declench, after a while. It is spicy with a tannic bite on the finish, and within the whole package one senses some serious wine-making. Excellent, and with a bright future you would have to say.

Nick A's 2008 Burgundy Horizontal (Table B) (Noizé, London): Bluer fruited than the Joliet, there is some forest floor leafiness and underbrush. Palate takes a while to open up but when it does there's a very well balanced wine with refreshing acidity and some onion skin savouriness. Good effort.

Sadly, I think this particular cuvée from a good producer has a problem. Bought on release and well stored, bottles have had varying levels of volatility and 'band aid' spoilage. C'est la vie

Ok, but way to acidic. Half the bottle has gone into the cooking pot.
