Not nearly as bad as I worried it would be from certain CT notes. Yes, 2008 was a terrible vintage. And in this vintage, this particular cuvee was the only one produced by St. Damien. But it is still a very good wine. I no longer enjoy Grenache as I once did, but this one is quite typical (and mercifully not a candied hot mess like most modern Southern Rhones...not to mention Spain...). This has some nice savory elements, like licorice/star anise. Some Mourvedre beefs the wine up a bit, though this is not a big-scaled wine. Lively acids. Quite good with food. I just drank the first bottle from a 6-pack, and I will happily drink the other 5 over the next 3-4 years. I don't believe this will improve at all beyond the next few years, and I'd worry about notable decline after another 5 years.

Lot of fruit up front. After some time it turns to blue fruit but already showing signs of age. A bit of raisin smell and taste in the mid. Overall, a good bottle but with the tail was a longer.
