In it's sweet spot, in more ways than 1...great on the nose, even better on the palate., with a lengthy finish and robust fruit profile supporting the alc level. No tannins to speak of at this point. Killer at $21 (my price point).
Decanted through an aerator and strainer and drank over the next three hours. Opaque, dark ruby-red. Mostly Blackberry and other dark fruit, but definite raspberry and tart cherry hints. The finish goes on and on and on. Very full-bodied. Chalky, earthy mouthfeel, but without overpowering the fruit. This one is nowhere near finished; you can hold this one for another 5+ years. Great QPR; this is one of the best $20 bottles of wine I've ever tasted.
