So I have no idea why anyone would ever drink anything other than a Carlisle for an "every day" wine. This stuff is fantastic. Very dark hues. Nose average. Luscious black and blue fruit - complex - long finish. No reason to buy turley or ridge or anything else as these are much better. (Some Turleys have a nice spritz or second fermentation that is very nice.)
Some sanguineous odors, which I love. A hint of over-ripeness, which I don't. On the palate, though, both of those disappear, and it's boysenberry, all the good parts of oak, perfectly balanced acids, and just a touch of tannin. This wine is drinking very well right now.
