  • Surprisingly deep in colour, yet perfectly mature and still very fresh and vibrant. This has it all - a core of honey-tinged orchard fruit that's still quite bright and lively, framed by layers of more burnished, smoky, lemon cream, and other savoury characteristics, and a higher toned, Saar minty/herbal note that emerges on the aromatics with more time. The sweetness is rather understated at this point - about as sweet as a modern Kabinett, but this is a stunning wine at its peak with incredible complexity of flavour, and a sense of seamlessness.

  • Amber colored and looks over the hill, the first sniff/taste seemed to confirm. Left in a decanter and the wine blossomed over the course of 2-3 hours. Layered honey flavors with a bit of orange marmalade and earth notes. Light on the palate. Though the wine gained some weight over the course of the evening, it still felt a touch watery. Gentle finish.

Somewhat tired, but still enjoyable. Drink now.

  • A good showing overall, but I imagine I would have liked this more several years ago. The colour's quite deep orange/amber now, and it's certainly on the downslope. At first it feels rather tired, but with a couple of hours in the decanter this did come around nicely to show an array of mature fruit, herbs, orange candy, and more savoury honeyed and earthy notes. Still very light and graceful on the palate, though finishing a bit thin.
