  • Has been drinking really well over the past decade. Has some of the exotic fruit notes of the vintage coupled with a little honey and mushroom development. It is ripe, round and full in the mouth with a fruit sweet heart and a gentle kiss of grapefruit acidity on the finish. Excellent accompaniment to a runny white mould cheese.

  • A really good aged Puligny. Slightly bortrytised character but beautifully fresh also. Wonderful drinkability if not in an intellectual way. Not getting any better but definitely not past it. Opened two bottles one significantly better than the other. Classic Carillon.

  • Loaded with botrytis and opens up with intense smells of apricot, honey and orange. Once it’s been in the glass a bit there are some notes of butter, almond and mineral. It won’t win any awards for complexity, I googled ‘wine awards that award complexity in 24 year old Village Chardonnays’ and came up with nothing, so I guess that doesn’t really matter. Whilst the wine’s acidity is barely there it is still quite bright and energetic.

  • Initially a bit dilute and didn't offer much. But with time it really filled out in the glass to show a lovely chalky mineral flavour profile and a slight toasty character. I would say quite complex for a village wine and not over the hill. Very good.
