Slow ox'd two hours before serving. Much darker than many Beaujolais wines. Dark garnet. Red fruited nose with some plantain notes- a hint of mint as well. Tart cherries attack the mid palate and the wine has some nice acidic structure to keep things refreshing. Some herbal notes interact with the soft tannins on the medium finish.
This drinks much more like a Gamay from Cheverny in the Loire than a typical Cru Bojo. Very nice pairing with prosciutto wrapped pear and mint viniagrette.

Beaujolais and Barbecue (SF Wine Trading Company): Dull color with brown tints. Viscous and dull in the mouth with the strange combination of brown sugar and a vegetal edge. Disjointed and just plain weird. I would not have identified this as Beaujolais.

A real winner. Good acidity and backbone, lithe, and vibrant red fruit.

Ripe red fruit on the nose, dark cherries, raspberry, nice wine.
