From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared in pristine fashion, this Syrah's deep ruby appearance could be confused with a current release. Decanted off of its sediment and allowed to aerate for an hour, it reveals an intense bouquet of red and blue fruits, accented with attractive notes of lavender, black olive, grilled meat and pickling spice. Medium-to-full-bodied, freshly acidic and with nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.6%), it retains an optimal level of silky-textured tannins that (along with the acid) give the wine a nice backbone. The flavors mirror the nose and there is excellent density in the middle. Finishing smooth and with impressive length, this Syrah is clearly in its sweet spot. Well-cellared bottles should provide pleasure for another 4-5 years. Drink now-2024.
This is absolutely incredible right now - lush, full of fruit, complex character, silky and weighty mouthfeel, filled with dark red fruit and olive tapenade - damn near perfect Syrah, frankly.

Crimson in color. 14.6% ABV. Subdued nose of red fruits, licorice and flowers. Medium to full body with plush mouth feel and sufficient acidity. Cherries, game and white pepper on the palate. Soft tannins on a medium length finish. Easy to drink but somewhat underwhelming given the pedigree. Drink over the next 1-3 years.

Deep red color. Almost no fruit or acidity left. Maybe held on to it too long or just an off bottle?
