lovely silky but still with tannic backbone and that pommard cherry that I favor over the more fruitful Givrey's early in it's drinking window enjoyed mostly during an interlude between courses at Vie

This seems a bit in between - some tertiary notes developing, but still a bit blocky and one dimensional. Darker fruits (vs red cherry). Nice bit of mineral and dirt. medium long finish. I think wait another 2-5 years on other bottles.

2008 red Burgs (Noize): Generously taken off the subs' bench to replace the undrinkable Corton. Lifted feeling to the nose, with some smoke and soft red fruit. Lean on the palate, as expected, but somehow also soft and giving; really nice to drink, with copious strawberry fruit and a savoury edge. I can find Montille reds a bit austere, but this was great.

Nick's 2008 Burgundy - Noize (Noizé, London): Fragrant, red fruit, spice, soil, medium bodied, leanish, spice, fine but still lightly firm tannins, good length finish.
