Consumed very informally so no formal notes but this was really nice. Glad Jason saved these from the vinegar pile. Also glad I have 2 left for more introspection as I love Gris with a few years on it.

Popped and poured. Composite cork. Unusual aromas that can best be described as almonds and rosewater. Complex mix of almond, lemon, mineral flavors, among others. Almond flavors dominate the finish.
Flat and dead when first opened, but came alive after about 15 minutes. Balance, depth, complex, interesting flavors but not over the top. Reminiscent of a good white Cotes Du Rhone.

The wine looks Yellow gold colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Apple, Pear, and Hay/Straw. It tastes like Butterscotch, and Orange. The body is Light/Medium. The wine has Silky texture. The wine finishes Medium.

I'm not a huge Gris fan in general, but this is one of the best. Dry, with lots of fruit pit bitterness that adds balance to the honeydew, peach, floral and slight herbal flavors. Very interesting. Definitely a bit more loire tasting than most US wines.
